Myron Jackson Taylor Minister
in The Christian Church Born March 26, 1924 at Goodwill, West Virginia. Married to Sarah Jean Riner, June 21, 1946. Three children: Toni Lynn Knier, Tim Myron Taylor, Terri Dee Taylor. Served pastorates in Indiana, Ohio, Georgia and California. Minister of Westwood Hills Christian Church (just off the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles) August 1969 through August 1999. Now serves as Minister Emeritus. Adjunct Professor of Preaching at Emmanuel School of Religion since 1978. Member of the Society of Biblical Literature; Disciples of Christ Historical Society; Academy of Homiletics. Co-Founder and Ministerial Advisor to the Westwood Christian Foundation, which was an educational consortium providing fully accredited undergraduate and graduate Christian education in the UCLA community. A Rotarian in Atlanta, Georgia and Los Angeles, California. Thirty years perfect attendance. Spoken to more than a hundred Rotary clubs on "The Four-Way Test." Speaker at numerous district conferences. Rotarian-of-the-year in 1989. A Paul Harris Fellow. Lecturer and preacher for special missions to the Philippines; to Brazil; and to the military base in Augsburg, Germany. Lecturer on many college campuses and preacher at many conventions and churches across the nation. Delivered the Myron J. Taylor Lectures on Preaching at Emmanuel School of Religion in 1998, which are published in his book, Preacher of the Gospel.
