Preacher of the Gospel

A book by Myron J. Taylor

Dr. Taylor's book, Preacher of the Gospel, was published by Westwood Hills Christian Church, upon Dr. Taylor's retirement after 30 years of ministry with that church. The volume contains an auto-biographical chapter on Dr. Taylor's early life as the son of a West Virginia coal miner, and his years of preparation for ministry. Also included are Dr. Taylor's lectures on Preaching at Emmanuel School of Religion:

"The Priority of Preaching"; "The Preacher's World"; "The Nature of Preaching"; "What Makes Preaching Biblical?"; and, one extra lecture on, "A Theology of the Word of God."

Six of Dr. Taylor's sermons selected out of his week by week preaching at Westwood Hills:

"Born In a Grave"; "The Meaning of Resurrection"; "The Memory, The Hope, The Presence"; "Pontius Pilate Speaks"; "Scaling The Heights", and "The Waiting Father". Thirty years of Dr. Taylor's preaching is available on tape and CD's.

Interspersed through the book are Communion Meditations and the brief devotional pieces Dr. Taylor included each week in The Cathedral Messenger.
